{"id":22255,"date":"2020-03-27T12:13:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T16:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/id-ashley.cms-devl.bu.edu\/researchsupport\/?p=22255"},"modified":"2020-03-27T12:13:07","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T16:13:07","slug":"limited-submission-opportunity-dos-fundamental-freedoms-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/id-demos.cms-devl.bu.edu\/bu-filtering\/2020\/03\/27\/limited-submission-opportunity-dos-fundamental-freedoms-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Limited Submission Opportunity: DOS Fundamental Freedoms Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>DOS Fundamental Freedoms Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>URL: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grants.gov\/web\/grants\/view-opportunity.html?oppId=325244\">https:\/\/www.grants.gov\/web\/grants\/view-opportunity.html?oppId=325244<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for a program which aims to respond to evolving opportunities and threats to the protection and advancement of the fundamental freedoms of association, assembly, expression, and religion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DRL will award an overarching cooperative agreement to a consortium of at least four NGOs with global reach (\u201cConsortium\u201d), to collaborate on the execution of individual projects in which \u201caction-forcing events\u201d have triggered the need for intervention to counter or prevent the closing of democratic space and\/or where progress in erecting democratic institutions and establishing the rule of law is in jeopardy. \u201cAction-forcing events\u201d are defined as but not limited to: snap elections, unexpected change in government leadership, upticks in violence\/crackdown on civil society, new legislation that would have a significant impact on fundamental freedoms, and rapid deterioration of the media environment.\u00a0 However, as this is a cooperative agreement, both the Consortium and DRL may present potential causes for intervention as the situation on the ground, globally, requires it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FUNDING INFORMATION<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> up to $5,017,283<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS<\/strong>: Providing cost sharing, matching, or cost participation is not an eligibility factor or requirement for this NOFO, and providing cost share will not result in a more favorable competitive ranking<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested investigators should submit the following materials via <a href=\"https:\/\/bu.infoready4.com\/\">InfoReady Review<\/a> by <strong>DATE:<\/strong> 4\/17\/2020<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Questions outlined in InfoReady Review application;<\/li>\n<li>A brief statement (up to 2 pages) by the candidate describing their achievements and proposed project;<\/li>\n<li>A brief budget outline for the proposed research<\/li>\n<li>Up-to-date CV or biosketch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A faculty committee will review internal proposals and select nominees.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEADLINES:<\/strong><br \/>\nInternal Materials Due: Friday, April 17, 2020<br \/>\nSponsor Deadline: Thursday, April 23 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEADLINE: APRIL 17, 2020.
