{"id":22199,"date":"2020-03-25T14:31:51","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T18:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/id-ashley.cms-devl.bu.edu\/researchsupport\/?p=22199"},"modified":"2020-03-25T14:31:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-25T18:31:51","slug":"broaden-the-impact-of-your-research-through-a-bu-hosted-nsf-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/id-demos.cms-devl.bu.edu\/bu-filtering\/2020\/03\/25\/broaden-the-impact-of-your-research-through-a-bu-hosted-nsf-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Broaden the Impact of Your Research through a BU-Hosted NSF Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span>Event Update:\u00a0 This event is scheduled to proceed as an\u00a0interactive\u00a0virtual implementation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span>To help researchers, scientists, and engineers explore the potential applications of their new technologies or research, the Boston University Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) and BU Office of Technology Development are partnering with the New England Innovation Corps to offer a three-week summer program based on the\u00a0NSF Innovation Corps program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Open to all BU faculty, PhDs, or Postdoctoral Associates, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icorps.mit.edu\/mitspark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">program<\/a>\u00a0includes two online group meetings, two team-focused office hour calls, and independent work through which participants will learn an immersive customer discovery experience that has been proven to significantly strengthen grant proposals, including highly competitive SBIR\/STTR funding.\u00a0This program is not limited to patented technologies.\u00a0All ideas are welcome from all schools and departments across all of BU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Created in 2011 by the National Science Foundation, the goal of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/news\/special_reports\/i-corps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NSF Innovation (I-Corps&#x2122;) program<\/a>\u00a0is to reduce the time and risk associated with translating promising ideas and technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace.
