The initiative aims to reduce harm from erroneous or delayed diagnoses, reduce costs and redundancy in the diagnostic process, improve health outcomes and save lives. The initiative\u2019s first area of focus is to develop and validate new measures for diagnostic performance.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.moore.org\/article-detail?newsUrlName=new-projects-aim-to-develop-clinical-quality-measures-to-improve-diagnosis\" style=\"font-weight: inherit\">Examples of our first cohort of grants for diagnostic clinical quality measures<\/a>\u00a0are now available for review. Starting with measure development is important \u2013 currently, U.S. health care systems are unable to systemically measure diagnostic performance in real time, which limits the ability to quantify performance and guide improvements.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FUNDING INFORMATION<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> $500,000 over 18 months<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be familiar with the U.S. health care system and have grant outputs feasible for implementation in the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Suitable measure concepts must be based on existing scientific evidence and\/or clinical guidelines, not new or as yet untested diagnostic tests.<\/li>\n<li>Our scope of funding does not include support for the development or evaluation of new diagnostic tests or products, such as novel biomarkers.<\/li>\n<li>Examples of previously funded projects can be viewed on our website at: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.moore.org\/article-detail?newsUrlName=new-projects-aim-to-develop-clinical-quality-measures-to-improve-diagnosis\" style=\"font-weight: inherit\">New projects aim to develop clinical quality measures to improve diagnosis.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As this is not a limited submission opportunity there is no internal selection process<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEADLINES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sponsor Deadline: Monday, May 4, 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEADLINE: MAY 4, 2020.
