{"id":21322,"date":"2020-01-29T14:18:52","date_gmt":"2020-01-29T19:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/id-ashley.cms-devl.bu.edu\/researchsupport\/?p=21322"},"modified":"2020-01-29T14:18:52","modified_gmt":"2020-01-29T19:18:52","slug":"memo-upcoming-changes-to-nsf-proposal-award-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/id-demos.cms-devl.bu.edu\/bu-filtering\/2020\/01\/29\/memo-upcoming-changes-to-nsf-proposal-award-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Memo: Upcoming Changes to NSF Proposal &amp; Award Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>BU researchers, please review the memo below from the National Science Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Issuance of a Revised Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (NSF 20-1)<\/h3>\n<p>Dear Colleagues:<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to announce that a revised version of the NSF <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/publications\/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf20001&amp;org=NSF\"><em>Proposal &amp; Award Policies &amp; Procedures Guide<\/em> (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1)<\/a> has been issued.<\/p>\n<p>The new PAPPG will be effective for <strong>proposals submitted or due, and awards made, on or after June 1, 2020<\/strong>. Significant changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span> <\/span>NSF will require use of an NSF-approved format in submission of the biographical sketch and current and pending support documents, once the PAPPG (NSF 20-1) becomes effective;\n<ul>\n<li>NSF is partnering with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sciencv\/\">SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae<\/a> as an NSF-approved format for preparation of both documents.<\/li>\n<li>Use of an NSF-approved format will not be required until implementation of PAPPG 20-1 on June 1, 2020.<\/li>\n<li>To assist the community, NSF has developed websites with additional information for the preparation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/bfa\/dias\/policy\/biosketch.jsp\">biographical sketch<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/bfa\/dias\/policy\/cps.jsp\">current and pending support<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span> <\/span>New requirement for proposing organizations to submit government-wide representations and certifications in the System for Award Management (SAM);<\/li>\n<li><span> <\/span>New requirement for providing e-mail documentation of Program Officer approval for the submission of RAPID and EAGER proposals; and<\/li>\n<li><span> <\/span>Clarifications to current and pending support coverage as well as other changes throughout the document.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You are encouraged to review the by-chapter summary of changes provided in the Introduction section of the PAPPG.<\/p>\n<p>NSF plans to conduct a webinar covering these changes on <strong>February 6 at 2PM EST.\u00a0 <\/strong>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/nsfgrantsconferences.com\/pappg-webinar-20\/\">webinar website<\/a> to register for this event.<\/p>\n<p>While this version of the PAPPG becomes effective on June 1, 2020, in the interim, the guidelines contained in the current PAPPG (NSF 19-1) continue to apply.<\/p>\n<p>A PDF version of the PAPPG will be available in the coming weeks.\u00a0 If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact the DIAS\/Policy Office at <a href=\"mailto:policy@nsf.gov\">policy@nsf.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Regards,<\/p>\n<p>Jean Feldman<br \/>\nHead, Policy Office<br \/>\nDivision of Institution and Award Support<br \/>\nNational Science Foundation<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BU researchers, please review the memo below from the National Science Foundation.
